What We Believe.........
We believe in one God, Creator and Sustainer of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally
co-existing in three persons – the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus is the
Christ, the son of the living God, born of the virgin Mary. (Deut. 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2
Corinthians 13:14; Matthew 16:16; Luke 1:26-31)
We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired, inerrant, and
trustworthy Word of God; the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of human beings
and the final authority for all matters of faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
We believe that human nature derives from two historical persons, male and female,
created in God’s image. They were created perfect but they sinned, plunging themselves and all
human beings into sin, guilt, suffering, and death. (Gen. 1:26-27; 3:1-24; Romans 3:23; 5:12)
We believe that the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ and His bodily resurrection from
the dead provide the only ground for our forgiveness and eternal salvation. That this free gift and
finished work is available to all who place their trust in Christ and surrender their lives to Him.
This is not of our doing, but a gift of God. (John 3:16-17; Ephesians 2:8-10)
We believe that water baptism (immersion) and the Lord’s Supper are divine ordinances
of the new covenant. They serve as identification with and a reminder of the death, burial, and
resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:1-7; Acts 2:38-39; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26;
Acts 20:7)
We believe that the Holy Spirit, indwelling the believer, is the power that convicts,
converts and changes us. He makes the presence of Jesus Christ real as He comforts, guides,
convicts, and enables us to live in ways that honor God. (John 14:16-17; 16:7-11; 1 Corinthians
12:4-11; Gal. 5:22-23)
We believe in the unity of all believers and maintain that Jesus Christ is the sole head of
the church. (Ephesians 4:4-6; John 17:20-21; Col. 1:17-18)
We believe in the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and the bodily resurrection of
the dead; of the believer to everlasting life in Heaven with the Lord; of the unbeliever to
everlasting punishment in Hell. (John 14:1-3; Matthew 25:31-46; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
Our local congregation is independent and self governed. We are not the only Christians, but we are Christians only!
